CONCERT FOR CURTAINS SATURDAY MAY 24th

The South Dumfries Historical Society is hosting an exciting fund-raising concert on Saturday May 24th in the Upper Theatre at the Memorial Hall, 34 Main Street South, St. George.

Performing that night will be members of the Paris-Port Dover Pipe Band, under the direction of Gordon Black.  The Pipe Band are new tenants of the Memorial Hall and passersby will hear them practice upwards to four times a week in the upper and lower halls.

Also performing that night will be the St. George Pro Musica Choir - under the direction of Nora Fueten.  This Choir tackles a challenging repertoire and has been featured at Westfield Heritage Village and at the Cambridge Library.

Local hero Gary Gray will also be on the bill - performing rootsy rock and folk favourites, including some of his originals.  He has performed during our Canada Day celebrations for years and hosts a fundraiser of his own each year at the Legion on behalf of the Stedman Hospice.

Lasts but not least on the bill will be Danielle Beaudin's new group - the Little Mountain Band.  This group will be introducing some new music in advance of Danielle's trip to Nashville for a month.  Her debut CD, released last year, has received very good reviews and she performed at our Canada Day celebration last year and did a duet with our headliner, Terry Kelly.

The show starts at 7:00 pm.

Tickets for the event will be $10 each.

They will be available at the Museum, or call 519-448-1889.

Proceeds from the show will go towards new stage curtains and other upgrades to the Memorial Hall.

Please mark the event on your calendar and plan to join us!
